Every month a new program is offered providing children the opportunity to discover the wonders of science in an exciting and stimulating environment.
Ages: 6 to 8 year olds and 9 to 11 year olds
When: 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Sessions for each age group
Sessions for each age group are held concurrently on each topic. Placement in classes will be based upon the child's date of birth.
Tuesday, January 19th
The Art of Science
Delve into the many concepts of science through the use of art. In this science meets art lab we will explore different scientific concepts through the use of art mediums. We will experiment with acid/base indicators, examine fractal patterns, and create colorful chromatography as we explore the art of science.

A Commotion of Motion
Let's work together to learn all about the energy of motion. In this lab we will experiment with the differences in kinetic and potential energy by creating a roller coaster, explore the forces of gravity through experimentation and discover the science of Newton's Laws.
Tuesday, March 16th
One Drop at a Time
What is the water cycle and why is it so important? Join us in this wet and wild lab as we explore the water cycle, learn about our local watersheds and take a river journey. This lab will take place outdoors weather permitting.
Tuesday, April 20th
Moon Science
What is the moon made up of? Why does it have craters? Join us in this astronomy lab that is dedicated to the science of our earth's moon. We'll experiment with moon phases, replicate the moon's craters and learn about the dark side of the moon.
Tuesday, May 18th
Stream Ecology
Join us in this exploration of stream ecology. Children will learn all about the science of ecology, study stream animal adaptations, examine the aquatic food web and conduct water tests in this hands-on ecology lab. This lab will take place outdoors weather permitting.
Program Notes:
The cost for each program is $6.00 per child. To register for a program, please call 518-235-2120 or complete the registration form and return to CMOST. Registration is required for the Home School programs and class size is limited so register early. Registration is not complete without payment in full.
Participants should check in at The Museum between 12:45 PM and 1:00 PM. Programs will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.
Children must be accompanied by an adult while they are at CMOST. Adults do not have to remain in the program room, but they must remain on the premises.
